Trainers that coached top athletes in Norway were arrested due to Operation Gilde

Norwegian law enforcement officers have busted a huge doping ring. Over 10 individuals related to illicit actions were arrested. Six persons were sentenced to imprisonment.
According to reports of the newspaper Dagens N?ringsliv (DN), the doping ring was established in Trondheim. DN published own investigation linked with illegal sale of anabolic steroids in Norway. Police investigated the case.
It is suggested that a secret center is in Trondheim. It manages illegal distribution of doping products and money laundering.
The arrested persons were connected with bodybuilding, fitness and health industries in Norway. Certain persons were arrested at their homes; others – in business offices, parking lots and tram stops.
Police officers suggest that several persons are hidden by the names of Guru and Karma.
Robert Eilertsen is included in those who have been arrested. He is a manager and editor of a fitness blog. This person coached well-known sportspeople within football, boxing, handball, etc.
It is believed that Eilertsen and certain other persons have provided dangerous doping preparations to Norwegian youth during certain years.
Circa 60 police officers were involved in raids. The raids resulted in 11 arrests.
Since the investigation has not been finished, police officers announce nothing about their further actions.
Norwegian customs officers and tax authorities were also involved in the investigation.
Many computers and certain documents were seized during raids of homes, business officers, cars, etc.
Eilertsen and Gunnar Strand Jacobsen, another arrested individual, have denied their links with doping products. Jacobsen is the owner of Kaliber Gym in Trondheim, one of the most trusted gyms in Norway. Jacobsen was personal trainer of athletes who obtained prizes. He coached sportspeople who attended to various sports. Jacobsen is claimed to be a high-profile nutrition expert.
The raid was called “Operation Gilde”.
Eilertsen and Jacobsen are charged with sale of doping drugs and money laundering.

Persons involved in illegal international drug ring purchased properties abroad and luxury cars

Spain’s policemen arrested Scott Boote, a man, who was implicated in illicit operations linked with an international drug ring manufacturing stimulants which increase libido. Large amounts of medicines were confiscated by policemen. It was estimated the street value of these medications. It was reported that it was almost ?3 million. A citizen of the UK, a 72-year-old man from Liverpool, was also questioned. According to statements of police, these two men produced 8 new sexual stimulants and offered them for sale per internet without medical controls. Six other persons were also questioned during this investigation. Investigators affirmed that the persons who were involved in this illegal drug ring got cars and another property due to distribution of illegal sex products. Certain bank accounts were blocked by police. Over 100,000 dosages of anabolic steroids, properties and vehicles were confiscated.
A spokesperson for Spanish police affirmed that all members of the drug ring lived very luxuriously. They possess many properties and luxury cars. They purchased properties abroad in order to hide the shaded business. Investigators determined that the ring sold sexual medications for both males and females. The products were sold per internet. Persons from the whole world could get the medications. Thus, people from the USA, the UK, Thailand, Malaysia, etc. were customers that obtained drugs from this ring. Three factories functioned in Costa del Sol. Investigators suppose that those that were manufacturing the products didn’t have appropriate knowledge for this purpose. According to them, the individuals that were implicated in the drug ring managed also legal business in order to hide the illicit one. They tried to give legitimate appearance to illicit actions. Several commercial companies were managed by these persons in order to mask the profits obtained due to illegal sale of sex stimulants.
Boxes which had to be sent to clients were also found by police officers. Anabolic steroids were also found and confiscated by police officers. The arrested persons also possessed packages, labels and leaflets.

Effects of steroids for driving

Although it is not yet proven scientifically whether uncontrolled aggressiveness is a side reaction of steroids, these drugs are blamed for some crimes quite frequently.
Michael Barton, a man from Britain, hit a Ford Fiesta, while he was driving his Volkswagen Golf. Paul Gard was driving the Ford Fiesta. Barton had passed Paul Gard. But then he had to pull back in front of him, since another vehicle was driving the other way. Paul Gard flashed him. So, he had to brake suddenly. Barton became raging, stopped his Volkswagen Golf, broke the wing mirror of Gard’s car and hit Gard in the face. Then Gard’s wife called police. While she was calling, Barton left calmly.
Michael Barton, a 21-year-old person that has a son of two years old, takes steroids for bulking effects. So, it has been claimed that these medicines affected his behavior. The defense attorney for this young man affirmed that steroids influenced on temperament of his client, since these drugs enhanced his testosterone levels.
Earlier Barton was convicted for some crimes, including domestic violence. Last year this young man pleaded guilty to an assault, criminal damage and driving carelessly because of his anger following assaults.
The judge Patrick Hooton at Portsmouth Crown Court Deputy Circuit affirmed that he was not sure that steroids caused the improper behavior of Michael Barton. But he noticed that it was completely mad to get furious and hit a man in the face only because he flashed him. The judge confirmed that Barton’s behavior was too immoral and he said: “you ought to go to prison”.
Thus, this man was sentenced to 6-month jail sentence suspended for a year; he was also sentenced to pay 500 dollars in compensation and ?277 for damage of the vehicle.

Black tea can’t hide testosterone use

Sportspeople become more and more sophisticated in application of steroids. They find out new ways to mask their administration of prohibited products. Several sportspersons take time to study researchers’ affirmations that could help them to hide that they dope. Today a method has been discovered: sportspeople can mask usage of testosterone with the help of green tea.
Testosterone is a hormone which is produced in body naturally. Thus, it may be difficult for anti-doping organizations to define that a sportsperson has administered testosterone. T: E ratio testing is commonly utilized by anti-doping organizations. Such tests may manifest unusual ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone in urine. But it doesn’t manifest difference between testosterone that has been secreted in body naturally and that introduced into body with the help of injections, gels, etc.
Declan Naughton and his colleagues at Kingston University ( London) have found that green tea contains such substances which are called “catechins”. They have ability to inhibit the enzyme UGT2B17. This enzyme promotes attaching glucuronic acid to testosterone. In case UGT2B17 is inhibited, less testosterone glucoronide is excreted in urine.
Catechins, the substances which are able to mask application of testosterone, are contained in green and white tea. Such compounds are not in black tea.
Naughton and his colleagues have conducted some experiments. They claim that a cup of strong green tea mask usage of testosterone.
Thus, those athletes that administer testosterone can lower amounts of testosterone which are excreted in urine by consumption of green or white tea. Green or white tea has ability to block excretion of testosterone, enhancing circulating levels of this hormone.
The World Anti-Doping Agency was informed about the discovering by the specialists. If this process occurs, it is not worthy to apply urine tests. Blood tests should be performed in order to detect testosterone use.
Olivier Rabin, the WADA’s expert, affirms that regular checks of blood steroids will be added. Everything will be done by anti-doping agencies in order to avoid fooling of urine tests.

Wim Vansevenant’s lawyer: case against former rider should be dropped

The case against Wim Vansevenant, a former Belgian rider, changed essentially. An analysis illustrated that the doping medicines which were ordered by him didn’t contain the contents written on the labels. He was cheated by the company where he ordered the drugs.
Last year some packages sent to the former rider by an Australian company were intercepted by customs officials. It was written on the intercepted bottles that they contained the doping preparation TB-500. It represents a peptide hormone that is capable to induce increasing endurance and speed healing. An investigation was started by the Belgian authorities. It was suspected that Wim Vansevenant supplied the Omega Pharma-Lotto team with doping drugs. This sportsperson rode professionally 10 years, from 1998 to 2008. Last 6 years of the career he was with this team.
An analysis of the bottles intercepted by customs illustrated that they contained only amino acids. Wim Vansevenant’s lawyer claimed that the accusations had to be dropped. He pointed out that since the medication was not connected with doping, the former sportsperson didn’t deserve to be punished.
Johan Lescrauwaet, the prosecutor’s spokesperson claimed that the contents didn’t correspond to the name of the drug which was written on the label and to the words of the former sportsperson.
Only amino acids were discovered in the bottles. No any doping medication. Thus, there is no any evidence that Wim Vansevenant provided doping products to other individuals.
The hearing of Wim Vansevenant was scheduled to be later.

Roger Clemens will thank toxicologist Bruce Goldberger

Testimonies of the famous toxicologist Bruce Goldberger will probably influence significantly on decision of the court in the case against Roger Clemens. Bruce Goldberger is the Professor of Pathology and Director of Toxicology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. This expert testified on behalf of Roger Clemens. However he was called in order to replace Don Catlin, the director of the WADA UCLA Medicine, Goldberger’s testimonies differed from those that are ordinarily provided by anti-doping agencies. He testified on behalf of the accused athlete.
Bruce Goldberger has gained his celebrity due to his participation in various news programs. Even during such programs he doesn’t refrain from criticism. Bruce Goldberger criticized some anti-doping organizations, including the WADA.
The toxicologist criticized feds in the case linked with Roger Clemens. They based on “beer can evidence” provided by McNamee to prove that Roger Clemens utilized steroids and HGH. Brian McNamee, the former personal trainer of this sportsperson, presented a beer can containing used needles and syringes that had traces of such steroids, as Sustanon, Primobolan Depot and Deca Durabolin and were mixed allegedly with Clemens’ blood.  The beer can was kept by McNamee over 6 years. Bruce Goldberger noticed that such basis was not reasonable.
Bruce Goldberger claimed that it was impossible to base on “beer can evidence”. He noted that the accusation couldn’t be proven because the theory of contamination could present.
Thus, the toxicologist Bruce Goldberger didn’t support the affirmations of the government. Earlier the toxicologist also expressed criticism connected with evidence used by certain anti-doping organizations.
Certain years ago the toxicologist Bruce Goldberger testified on behalf of the American cyclist Floyd Landis, when this athlete appealed positives for steroids. A WADA-accredited lab located in France discovered traces of exogenous testosterone; T: E ratio and carbon isotope ratio tests were used by the lab. Bruce Goldberger expressed similar words and criticism during the appeal related to Floyd Landis.
Bruce Goldberger said during an interview that the WADA utilized inadequate methods and violated rights of sportspeople in order to achieve the success in anti-doping programs.
Floyd Landis didn’t have success in his appeal and admitted that he had applied steroids, EPO and some other related medicines.
Nobody can be sure which results will be reached by Roger Clemens. Will the government prove that he has lied before the Congress? Will he admit to using banned medications? Or will be the results opposite?

Rusty Hardin uses photos of Roger Clemens in order to defend him

Every baseball fan knows that Roger Clemens is charged with obstruction of justice. It is believed that he has lied before Congress about usage of steroids and HGH.
The attorney Rusty Hardin noticed that Roger Clemens’ physical appearance didn’t change greatly before, during and after his working with the coach Brian McNamee. The attorney confirmed that this factor was a proof that Roger Clemens hadn’t taken steroids and other related preparations.
Changing in muscle mass is usually used by federal prosecutors as proof that an athlete administers steroids or/and other related products. But this tendency was not used during the governmental case against Roger Clemens. Nobody could claim that Roger Clemens’ muscles demonstrated that he had used steroids and HGH. It is a difference between the cases against Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds.
When it comes to the governmental case against Barry Bonds, federal prosecutors called many individuals in the trial that could testify that anabolic steroids caused evidential changes in physical appearance of this person. They claimed that usage of steroids led to enhancement of muscle size, increased size of the head and testicular atrophy in Barry Bonds.
Thus, Rusty Hardin presented four photos of Roger Clemens. The photos displayed physical appearance of Roger Clemens, including the period of time when Clemens was working with Brian McNamee. Hardin pointed out that the pictures manifested that there were no changes in physical appearance that could support that he administered steroids and HGH.
Rusty Hardin noticed that the pictures manifested only the process of ageing. The masseur Cheryl Redfern noticed that she didn’t observe any changes in physical appearance of Roger Clemens. Roger Clemens experienced neither back acne, nor gynecomastia, nor essentially enhanced muscle mass.
The former Major League Baseball player Phil Garner also claimed that there were not any significant changes in physical appearance and performance of Roger Clemens during working with the coach Brian McNamee.
Steve Durham, the Assistant US Attorney tried to discredit the argument about lack of physical changes in Roger Clemens during the cross-examination of the former baseball player Phil Garner. He confirmed that while several steroids enhanced muscle mass, others didn’t promote gaining muscles. So, he claimed that the photos could display nothing about steroid use.
Federal prosecutors want to take advantages in both cases: in the case against Roger Clemens and in that against Barry Bonds. While they claim that physical changes in Barry Bonds manifest that he has used steroids, lack of physical changes in Roger Clemens doesn’t prove that he hasn’t taken steroids.

Should be steroids demonized for massacre in Oslo?

Anders Behring Breivik is a murderer of over 70 persons. He bombed governmental buildings in Oslo (Norway). Teenagers of the Workers’ Youth League camp were also killed by this criminal on Utoya island in July 2011.
Anders Behring Breivik trained for the massacre significantly. He noted that he had applied steroid cycles.  Since he used steroids, these medications were blamed for the deadly actions by many journalists.
But what did specialists say? Joerge Moerland, a professor of forensic toxicology at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, contested statements of these reporters. Dr. Joerge Moerland noted that anabolic steroids didn’t contribute in rampage of this person. But the specialist noted that it was impossible to contest that these products could cause aggressiveness in Breivik.
An ECA, a combination of caffeine, aspirin and ephedrine, was also taken by the murderer. In fact, this combination is usually used by bodybuilders in order to burn fat and stimulate themselves for trainings. It was determined that the murderer has applied great amount of the stack. The amount utilized by him was by 50 % more increased than it is permitted under European Union’s rules.
The forensic toxicologist Moerland noted that the murderer’s behavior was more essentially affected by the ECA than steroids. He explained that ephedrine might lead to desire to be involved in dangerous activities. Moerland confirmed that the killer’s central nervous system had been affected by ephedrine.
Nonetheless, the forensic toxicologist Joerge Moerland noted about limitation of the ECA’ impact. The amount of caffeine consumed by the murderer was equal to approximately 5 cups of coffee. Thus, the amount was not enough high in order to be blamed for the crimes.
The murderer described his usage of steroids and dietary supplements in details. He also recommended other individuals purchasing steroids at Alinshop.
Breivik noted that he didn’t like Dianabol because it could lead to liquid retention. He explained that Dianabol could add more body mass than consumers could carry. According to his affirmations, approximately 50 % of the mass obtained due to this drug is liquid retention. The killer decided to administer several combinations that were suitable for his purposes.
The killer studied effects of different steroids in order to choose those who were suitable for his needs. He claimed that Testosterone Propionate had certain priorities over Dianabol. He also supposed that stacks of Dianabol with Aromasin or application of Dianabol followed by usage of Winstrol could benefit substantially.
So, Anders Breivik prepared for the massacre scrupulously. He spent time in order to choose and plan steroid cycles and usage of dietary supplements. He also thought over each detail related to attacks and murders.
However some individuals believed that Breivik was legally insane, it’s wrong. It is obvious that the murders have been committed consciously.

Criminals like using steroids for getting of muscular physique

According to the newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald”, outlaw motorcycle gangs are responsible for spread of illegal steroid use in Australia. The gangs get significant profit and reduced risks.
The detective Nick Bingham has affirmed that New South Wales Police doesn’t focus on investigation linked with steroid use but anabolic steroids become targets of investigations, when police officers arrest motorcycle gangs for violation of other laws.
According to the detective Nick Bingham, although New South Wales police officers don’t raid houses of gangs for steroids, they find them, when they conduct searches for weapons and psychostimulant drugs.
Bingham has confirmed that they ordinarily seize such amounts of steroids from motorcycle gangs that are only for personal application. Amounts of other medicines that are usually found in possession of gangs are much greater than those of steroids.
The detective Nick Bingham has claimed that criminals prefer using anabolic steroids in order to have threatening muscular bodies. They desire to look big and powerful.
Although Bingham is sure that gangs have steroids only for personal use, the newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald” doesn’t agree with his point of view. It is reported that motorcycle gangs are involved in smuggling of steroids.
Although gyms are claimed to be the most important sources of steroids for bodybuilders, it is reported by “The Sydney Morning Herald” that certain gyms have direct links with motorcycle gangs. The Herald claims that many seizures made by the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service are related closely to distribution of steroids by motorcycle gangs.
According to reports of Australian Customs, mail seizures of steroids have been enhanced greatly in comparison with past years.
Over 2, 000 seizures were made in 2009-2010 and more than 5, 000 seizures of steroids were recorded in 2010-2011.
Many seizures were related to personal intake of steroids imported by bodybuilders.

Judge Walton has not yet announced whether he will allow David Segui to testify in trial linked with Roger Clemens

Federal prosecutors hope that the judge Reggie Walton will permit the former Major League Baseball player David Segui to present testimony in the trial related to the case of Roger Clemens. This player had a conversation with Brian McNamee, the former coach of Roger Clemens. It is confirmed that they have spoken about usage of steroids by the former celebrated baseball player.
Brain McNamee was called to testify against Roger Clemens because he turned out to be the only person who had direct knowledge about administration of steroids and other related products by Clemens. Furthermore, Brian McNamee kept a beer can with vials, syringes and needles which were allegedly mixed with Roger Clemens’ blood. DNA analysis was conducted in order to confirm whether it was Clemens’ blood.
Rusty Hardin, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, claimed that the steroid evidence was thought up by Brian McNamee after the interpellation by federal prosecutors.
But prosecutors claimed that David Segui told them that Brian McNamee said that he kept some things as evidence of steroid use by certain players in 2001. It was several years before Roger Clemens’ former trainer became the target of the investigation.
Information provided by Segui to federal prosecutors differed totally from that provided to Jim Baumbach, a sportswriter. His affirmations presented to Jim Baumbach were published in an article in 2008. According to that piece of news, David Segui claimed that he had never spoken about steroids with his friend Brian McNamee.
David Segui found out about involvement of Brian McNamee into the trial of Roger Clemens only in 2006, when he read a piece of news in the Los Angeles Times.
David Segui was quite open in his discussions about personal application of steroids and other related medications. He said that players of the Major League Baseball asked him many times whether he had used steroids. The former Major League Baseball first baseman admitted that he had taken them. But David Segui confirmed that he had never spoken about administration of steroids with Brian McNamee.
David Segui supported McNamee’s decision to store evidence about administration of banned substances by his clients. According to Segui, it is a reasonable decision because sometimes innocent guys are blamed but guilty guys are covered. Thus, Brian McNamee could help to disclose the truth.
Although federal prosecutors asked the judge Walton to permit Segui to testify in the trial linked with Roger Clemens, it is unclear yet whether the judge will allow it.

Why did Andre Berto test positive for Nandrolone?

The boxer Andre “The Best” Berto tested positive for the steroid Nandrolone. The drug testing was conducted by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA).
He had to meet Victor Ortiz on June 23, 2012 in Los Angeles. He agreed to submit to random drug testing before the fight. Both “A” and “B” urine samples indicated about intake of the anabolic steroid Nandrolone.
It was already the second time this month, when the VADA tested boxers and caught them taking steroids. The first boxer that tested positive this month due to tests conducted by the VADA was Lamont Peterson. He was scheduled to fight against Amir Khan. It is quite ironically that Peterson requested random blood and urine testing. A carbon isotope ratio test conducted by the VADA manifested that testosterone of exogenous origin was in this fighter’s system certain weeks before the match.
Financial position of certain companies was affected due to tests conducted by the VADA. For example, Golden Boy Promotions lost essential potential profit due to Lamont Peterson’s positives. It was determined by the CEO of the company Richard Schaeffer that the company lost 250, 000 dollars.
The cancelation of the fight between Andre Berto and Victor Ortiz will probably not influence greatly on financial position of certain promotional companies because another boxer will possibly replace Andre Berto and will meet Ortiz.
The boxer Andre Berto didn’t explain what had caused his positives. This boxer hired the attorney Howard Jacobs who would represent and defeat him.
Berto noted that he had never administered steroids. So, he confirmed that he investigated with his attorney what could cause positives for steroids. Andre Berto concluded that he had never cheated; he achieved success in sport due to hard work and dedication.
The attorney Howard Jacobs was hired by numerous other sportspersons that turned out to be victims of contaminated dietary supplements.
It is claimed that since Nandrolone has too long half life and it is detected easily, it is not very popular among doping athletes. But it has been shown many times that several dietary supplements contained the compound nandrolone that led to positives for steroids. But since sometimes not each substance is written on the label, athletes become victims of contaminated dietary supplements.

Anderson Silva will fight against steroid user in July 2012

Chael Sonnen, an American mixed martial artist is allowed to apply anabolic steroids. The physician Timothy Trainor noticed that this fighter actually had hypogonadism.
What does this disease represent? Hypogonadism is related to insufficient production of the hormone testosterone. Physicians commonly recommend hormone replacement therapy for treatment of this condition.
The athlete Chael Sonnen has acquired a therapeutic use exemption (TUE). So, this athlete is allowed to use steroids for clinical purposes and meet Anderson Silva at UFC 148 in July 2012.
According to indications given by Chael Sonnen’s physician, he should apply injections of Testosterone Enanthate and Testosterone Cypionate twice a week. The doses that are prescribed have not been disclosed. But under rules of the Nevada Athletic Commission, blood serum levels of testosterone in this athlete should remain within normal range on the morning after the fight against Silva.
The physician Trainor claims that those who fight, having TUE, should be tested on the morning after the match to define whether they have used something right before the match.
The doctor Trainor thinks that testosterone can produce performance-enhancing effects, if it is applied right before the fight. He claims that injections must not be applied in the days before a match to prevent enhanced levels of testosterone.
But it seems that the NAC doesn’t know that steroids cause effects related to increase of performance, not only if they are utilized right before competitions. Application of steroids increases performance during workouts before competitions. And the benefits remain even after athletes discontinue applying them.
Sonnen had increased levels of testosterone at UFC 117. He confirmed that he had tested positive because he had been on TRT.  After his appeal the suspension was reduced to 6 months from one year. But Chael Sonnen didn’t have any TUE that time.

Galabin Boevski used his celebrity in sports for illegal drug trade

Galabin Boevski, a Bulgarian weightlifter, World Champion and Olympic Champion, was sentenced to 9 months in prison because of illicit international drug trade. This sportsman was arrested in October 2011 at the Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil after he tried to board the plane with eight kg of cocaine. This sportsman was headed to Bulgaria. Cocaine was estimated. It could be sold at the price of 500, 000 dollars on the streets in European countries.
Galabin Boevski is a celebrated athlete in Bulgaria. He is considered to be one of the most well-known weightlifters in this country.
First he was caught administering steroids in 1995. Undoubtedly, he was sentenced to suspension.
Then this weightlifter was caught doping in 2004. It was the second time when he broke doping laws. In fact, Galabin Boevski didn’t test positive for any banned drugs. But anti-doping officials defined that he didn’t provide own urine. The urine which was provided by this weightlifter belonged to another person. As a result, Galabin Boevski was sentenced to 8-year suspension. During serving the suspension he was caught trafficking cocaine.
Boevski became celebrated due to his success in weightlifting. This athlete won gold medals at some competitions: at the 1999 World Weightlifting Championships in Athens, the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and the 2001 World Weightlifting Championships in Antalya.
At the 2003 World Championships in Vancouver this athlete and his teammates from Bulgaria provided urine samples which belonged to another individual. It was defined by anti-doping officials that the 3 urine samples belonged to one individual. These sportsmen were sentenced to suspensions. Boevski appealed the suspension but it was not successful.
Boevski broke certain world records at different competitions. He held three world records. The best lifts of this sportsman were following: a 162, 5 kg snatch, 196, 5 kg clean and jerk and a 357, 5 kg of two lifts at the 1999 Championships.
It is wondering but this sportsman’s reputation was not spoiled in Bulgaria. He used his status of celebrity in sports in order to launch a Technogym fitness center in Sofia. The center was called Atama Wellness and Spa.
Moreover, Maria Isabel do Prado, the Brazilian judge, noticed that Boevski utilized also his status of celebrity in sports in order to traffic the narcotic cocaine. She also noted that this sportsperson utilized the participation of his daughter in a Brazilian tennis tournament in order to hide his illicit deals linked with trafficking of the narcotic.
The weightlifter Galabin Boevski decided to appeal the conviction.

Federal government couldn’t achieve goal linked with Roger Clemens’ case

The desire of the federal government linked with the case of Roger Clemens was following: they desired to prove that this sportsperson had lied before the Congress about application of anabolic steroids and HGH. But the government couldn’t do it. It was expected that Andy Pettitte would claim that Roger Clemens had acknowledged that he had taken the forbidden preparations during a conversation in 1999 or in 2000. But the affirmation of Andy Pettitee was shocking for prosecutors. This person said that he couldn’t affirm that Roger Clemens had used steroids and HGH because he was not sure.
Actually, did the testimony of Andy Pettittte shock the prosecutors of Roger Clemens? This man swore for the 2008 Congressional hearings on usage of steroids in the Major League Baseball that Roger Clemens admitted to intake of HGH. But he presented opposite testimony at the Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse in Washington.
Michael Attanasio, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, asked Andy Pettitte whether he may affirm that he is 50-50 that he has misunderstood Roger Clemens about HGH. Andy Pettitte answered that he is actually 50-50 about this aspect.
When Clemens’ prosecutors heard Pettitte’s answer, they didn’t know what to do. They confirmed that Pettitte never answered this way, when he was asked certain times.
The U. S. District Court Judge Reggie Walton noticed that he understood that Andy Pettitte’s answer has been conflicted. Actually, his testimony was following: “I don’t know”.
The attorneys for Roger Clemens utilized the moment of the federal prosecutors’ embarrassment. They asked the judge to ignore the testimony of Andy Pettitte because he was 50-50. According to the attorneys, he probably misunderstood the athlete Roger Clemens or he can’t remember the details of the conversation.
The government has noted that the jury still allows taking in consideration the testimony of Andy Pettitte. ASUSA Dunham has claimed that under federal laws jury is allowed to choose which testimony to believe. This person hopes that the jury will disregard the testimony which doesn’t support the government.
Thus, the testimony presented by Andy Pettitte and his wife led to problems. Testimonies of Andy’s wife during the first trial resulted in the declaration of a mistrial by the judge Walton.
Pettitte confirms that he is Roger Clemens’ friend. Clemens must also claim that they are friends after Andy  Pettitte’s last testimony.

Police officers were shot, when they came to raid home of steroid user

Police officers came to Cullen Mutrie for a drug investigation. This person shot five police officials at his home. As a result, the Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney was killed; 4 police officials were wounded. The next morning this killer and a woman were found dead.
It is suggested that Cullen Mutrie was administering steroids at the time of the shootout. Jane Young, the New Hampshire Associate Attorney General, stated that toxicology reports were waiting in order to find out whether metabolites of steroids were in the body of this person.
Police confirmed that Cullen Mutrie had been a very muscular man. He worked at Genetix Fitness in Seabrook. It was reported that he was 6 feet 3 inches tall. Cullen Mutrie weighed 275 pounds. During a search that was in July 2010 law enforcement officials discovered anabolic steroids at his home. The policeman Wayne Young found them in a coffee table. He said that he had noticed a plastic bag with several vials. One vial was with powder; others contained solution. The labels indicated that they were steroids.
The vials were analyzed by the New Hampshire State Crime Lab. It was claimed that the vials contained such preparations, as Trenbolone Acetate, Sustanon 250, Boldenone Undecylenate and Nandrolone Decanoate.
The professor of kinesiology John Miller was asked whether a link between the crime and aggressiveness due to anabolic steroids could present. The specialist said that it was plausible. But according to him, it is impossible to confirm that there was a direct link between usage of anabolic steroids and the crime.
John Miller supposed that steroids which were on the black market were provided from legitimate pharmaceutical companies. But he has been mistaken because the majority of steroids that are sold on the black market are manufactured in underground labs. It is even suggested that Mutrie produced steroids.
Since a connection between crimes and administration of steroids is a controversial question, not only police officers but also correspondents investigate the case connected with the cop-killer.

Alistar Overeem became victim of his physician’s quack

Alistar Overeem, a UFC fighter, appealed his suspension that was received by him for usage of anabolic steroids in April 2012. But Alistar Overeem couldn’t win his appeal against members of NSAC. This fighter lost his license for 9 months. Then Alistar Overeem can obtain it again.
This fighter acknowledged that he had used injectable testosterone which was advised him by his physician. Overeem used the strategy which was considered to be boring. He claimed that he had never used anabolic steroids or other related medicines intentionally. Alistar Overeem tried to make the NSAC think that his injectable usage of steroids was accidental.
David Chenoff, the defense attorney for Alistar Overeem, is experienced in defending well-known athletes.
The defense attorney called the personal health care provider of Overeem to testify during the appeal. It was supposed that Dr. Molina would testify in defense for this athlete. Testimonies of this health care provider were very miserable. Dr. Molina presented an explanation for prescriptions of certain medicines which led to Overeem’s enhanced testosterone: epitestosterone ratio.
The treating doctor of Alistar Overeem admitted that he indicated and injected this fighter with a mixture of Toradol and Dexamethasone because he suffered from an injury. In fact, these medications are utilized for anti-inflammatory purposes. But intake of testosterone for recovery from injuries is not approved by the FDA.
It is believed that Dr. Molina hasn’t warned this fighter that these medicines contain the anabolic steroid testosterone. But it is evidentially that he has never asked about it.
So, testimonies of Dr. Molina turned out to manifest lack of the evidence related to therapeutic needs for administration of banned products by Alistar Overeem. The physician couldn’t present any reasonable explanation that could justify recommendations of Toradol and Dexamethasone to this athlete. Testimonies of the doctor Molina worked against Alistar Overeem.
Actually, it was felt that Overeem was a victim of the health care provider’s quack.
But it is possible to suggest that this strategy was designed by the defense attorney for this fighter.
The commissioner Pat Lundval was probably impressed by the defense of Alistar Overeem. She even called him a “smart guy”.
The members of the NSAC seemed to believe that Overeem has been actually a great guy but he has surrounded himself with such questionable individuals, as the health care provider Moline. They advised him to find more qualified professionals in the future.
