Recently Victor Conte, the founder of BALCO, expressed his thoughts about testing of anti-doping agencies and the current state of doping among athletes.
Conte has confirmed that it is unlikely that the 2012 London Olympics would be free from intake of steroids and other doping drugs. The founder of BALCO claimed in an interview that Olympic anti-doping testing system had various defects. So, consumers of steroids were also chosen to participate in the 2012 Olympics.
Victor Conte doesn’t believe that usage of banned medications has reduced. He doesn’t agree with individuals who confirm that reduced performance in different sports is a proof that steroids and other related preparations are almost excluded from sports.
Victor Conte confirms that steroids are widely administered now too. Efforts of anti-doping agencies led to adoption of sportspersons. Thus, sportspeople don’t use as high dosages as have been taken before. Nonetheless, usage of steroids and other prohibited products remains to be a concern.
The founder of BALCO is sure that athletes don’t use such designer steroids, as THG. Instead of applying such drugs, athletes take the steroid testosterone that is claimed to be the grandfather of all steroids. Conte adds that since testosterone is fast-acting and it is purchasable in form of creams, gels, patches and injections, it is widely used by sportspeople. Moreover, not very enhanced doses of testosterone are required in order to acquire excellent results. This steroid is widespread among Major League Baseball players.
Victor Conte criticizes anti-doping system. He notes that anti-doping agencies have essential ambiguities. Even a truck can go through loopholes which are in doping laws, according to the founder of BALCO.
