Anti-doping agencies should realize that their policies are weak

Lance Armstrong was denying doping for years. However he was accused of taking prohibited medications many times, he continued to claim that he never administered forbidden medicines. Even when the USADA proved that the cyclist doped, he cheated about doping. But ultimately, Lance Armstrong decided to admit to taking EPO, testosterone and blood transfusions.
Although a lot of sportspersons used performance-enhancing drugs and avoided detection successfully, there was anything unusual in the doping case of Lance Armstrong. Lance Armstrong reached great success in sports. He won 7 Tour de France titles. He obtained also some other awards. Lance Armstrong got worldwide success. Although he submitted to a lot of drug tests, he never tested positive for any banned product.
Of course, Lance Armstrong is not the only sportsperson who has doped. Sportspersons have taken forbidden medicines during past years. They continue to administer steroids and other related preparations nowadays. And professional athletes will administer them in future. Administration of steroids and other doping products is spread in professional sports. Almost each athlete takes forbidden products. While several sportspersons test positive for prohibited medicines and receive suspensions, others are not caught.
When it comes to the attitude towards Lance Armstrong’s doping, it’s mainly negative. A lot of individuals got great anger, when the well-known cyclist admitted to using EPO, the steroid testosterone and blood transfusions. A lot of persons believed in him. They thought that Lance Armstrong competed “cleanly”. That’s why their disappointment was significant.
